Ulysse Nardin Diver line has an refreshed edition.
With their tradition longer than one century, Ulysse Nardin watches are justifiably on the list of the best luxurious brands. Their story started as far into the past as in the year 1846 in the Swiss town Le Locle, when Ulysse Nardin, then 23 years old, founded the company.
Originally the company produced maritime chronometers, but Nardin soon switched to wrist watches. His products left important trail in the history of chorology. Numerous awards testify of the real innovative inventions: in the first 100 years of Ulysse Nardin company’s existence, it was awarded more than 4.300 awards, including 18 gold medals and about 2.400 special ones.
Towards the end of 20th century Rolf Schnyder came to the head of the company. This was the beginning of the new era of Ulysse Nardin creativity, including cooperation with the famous chorologist Ludwig Oechslin. The two brilliant experts brought about real revolution in the world of watch making, with their unbelievable lines. One of those is the Ulysse Nardin Diver collection.
Much more than divers’ watches
Inspired by sea depths, Ulysse Nardin Diver is much more than watch with top performances at hundreds of meters depth. Made according to expertise and technology conveyed through generations, with constant progress, these watches are made to last. At the same time they portray one of the key elements of the brand strategy: commitment to ecological and social responsibility.
With the wish to focus attention to preservation of natural environment, on the occasion of the World Ocean Day, marked June 8th every year, Ulysse Nardin launched two new models. As a reminder of the fact that more than 9 million tons of plastic waste end up in the ocean, Diver Net Azure and Diver X Skeleton Azure are made of recycled materials.
Ulysse Nardin Diver in Summer colors
New Ulysse Nardin Diver watches come with 44 mm diameter housing. Net Azure housing is made of 95% recycled steel. Its sides are made of recycled plastic, 60% of which are recycled fishing nets, while the one-directional bezel is made of carbony – material obtained of reprocessed carbon fibers, of outstanding resistance and light form.
Etched „X“ detail stands out on the black dial. In an impressive blue color that reminds of the color of the sea, this element provides a stunning effect. Blue elements on power reserve indicator, situated at 12 o’clock, and date and seconds indicator, situated at 6 o’clock, provide additional hint on sea depths.
Contrary to refined sporty elegance of Net Azure model, X Skeleton Azure exudes youthful, bold design. The housing is made of titanium, while the recognizable looks of open dial is characteristic for Diver X Skeleton watches. This model comes with azure accents, exhibiting elements of the movement.
Both Ulysse Nardin Diver models are equipped with rubber strap in azure color, and are justifiably listed as perfect luxury watches for Summer.
Silica technology of futuristic design as a perfect companion
Rolf Schnyder and Ludwig Oechslin were the first to use silica instead of metal for movement components production. Thus they have achieved not only greater resistance to corrosion and wear, but also easier maintenance – no need for lubrication.
Siliceous technology was first applied with Ulysse Nardin Freak watches. Other lines followed, including the new Diver models.
Net Azure runs on UN-118 caliber, at frequency of 28.800 vibrations per hour, with 60-hour power reserve. X Skeleton Azure runs on UN-372 caliber, with 96 hours power reserve, at frequency of 21.600 vibrations per hour.
